Speed and efficiency. A faster, more efficient swimmer will burn more calories than a slow or average swimmer. That’s more calories per minute or hour, not per round. Why the difference? Well, a little out of hand as a swimmer I’ll definitely have more energy and calories to spend in the water fighting for the first round, but the number of rounds will actually happen? The fastest swimmer does laps at the end much more to burn more calories.
Effort. You burn calories while blunders in the pool. About 400 calories per hour if you’re 150 pounds and does not take seriously. You can burn over 700 calories per hour, if you push with a freestyle laps or harder nage butterfly.
Your weight. The heavier you are, the more calories burned, because more weight means automatically require more effort as you move into the water.

Questions to Ask Before Signing a Vehicle Service Contract

Questions to Ask Before Signing a Vehicle Service Contract

When in a car accident, nothing is worse than finding out that your insurance does not cover the damages. By the same token, when your car needs repairs, you do not want to be surprised to learn that your car service contract does not cover the mechanic’s fees. As we all know, these fees can be substantial – well into the thousands of dollars. That’s why it is important to ask many questions when considering a vehicle service contract. But you also need to ask the right questions. Here are some important ones:

·         What is the length of the contract? Is it longer than you plan to own the car? If so, ask if the Vehicle Service Contract can be transferred to another vehicle. If not, you will want to consider a different warranty. After all, there is no sense in paying for years of coverage on a car you don’t plan on owning that long.

·         How are claims filed and handled? Do you need to return the car to the dealership for all repairs, or are you free to go to any repair shop? Vehicle service contracts can vary with this policy, so make sure you know the answer. In addition, if you can go to any repair shop, check to make sure whether or not you need to have the shop pre-authorized before service can be done on your car.

·         What is covered? A simple but important question. Your used car warranty likely does not cover any and all repairs. Some only cover repairs due to breakage. Others cover repairs due to wear and tear on the vehicle. This distinction may be subtle, but it can make or break your decision to sign the contract.

·         Who is behind the vehicle service contract? Possibly the most important question of them all, knowing who backs your contract will determine how well your claims may be handled. Do your research. Find out exactly who will be handling your claims and start searching online. You need to determine whether or not they are reliable enough for you based on the feedback left from others who have dealt with the company before.

September 20th, 2010 by admin

While not everyone is interested in using a car to improve their status, the car makes the person.  No matter where you live the car you drive does matter.  This is especially true in the business world.  Imagine driving up in an old junk car to make a big deal with another company.  Your demeanour will exude less confidence in many cases.  Okay, so you can’t afford a brand new Aston Martin to give you more confidence.  Maybe a Used Aston Martin is more in your price range.  Even a used car made by Aston Martin will give you more confidence in your daily life whether business or personal.

Aston Martin gained their height of fame from Bond movies, and that fame has only grown due to the discriminating tastes of car buyers.  Some people want the best and can afford it.  However, even those folks out there that can’t afford a brand new Aston Martin can benefit by choosing a Used Aston Martin.  Since Aston Martin owners take such great care to keep them properly maintained used models are as good as new ones.  The only difference is that you won’t have the depreciation of the new car or the bigger price tag.

Many owners of new Aston Martin cars special ordered their car in the beginning which means they paid more for special features and extras.  You can find a Used Aston Martin with such special features but not pay nearly the same as the original owner did when he or she made the special order.

Lower prices, special features, great maintenance and less depreciation of preowned Aston Martin cars is what makes buying used such a smart investment. Used Aston Martin cars have everything a new one does.  This is especially true with late models since they also have some of the advanced technology of even the newer cars.  Imagine yourself making this smart investment and driving to work in your Used Aston Martin.  Your confidence level will increase, your productivity will improve and you will look great driving one of these British iconic cars.  There’s certainly nothing wrong with testing this theory by test driving a pre-owned Aston Martin.

Changing Brake Rotors Can Be An Easy Job

September 11th, 2010 by admin

“Doing a brake job” can mean a lot of different things. There are a lot of components and parts that are involved in “doing a brake job” right. One of the main components to think about are the Brake Rotors, as they will probably need to be replaced. The brake calipers, brake pads and ABS wheel sensors are other parts that could need replacing. Most Discount Auto Parts stores will have the replacement parts needed. Most do it yourself car owners can handle a simple brake job.

The first step to replacing the brake rotors is to remove the wheels. Loosening the lug nuts in a star pattern and with a lug wrench is recommended, this method should also be used to put the wheels back on. Once the wheel is off, inspect the rotor and brake pads. This is the time to determine which parts will need to be replaced to do the job correctly. The next step would be to contact the Discount Auto Parts store, confirm, purchase and pick up the parts needed. When removing the brake pads, pliers are used to remove the cotter pin that hold the retaining pin in place. After removing the cotter pin, remove the sensor pin and then the retaining pin, while pushing down the spring clip. Lift the pads out. Move the caliper mount out of the way and inspect the rotor. If there are any grooves worn into the surface or if the surface is too thin, the rotor needs to be replaced.

When the new brake rotor is installed it will probably have a protective film over it that needs to be removed. This is also the time to replace the brake pads with new ones. While putting the components back together, it is important to check that everything fits correctly and nothing sticks. When putting the wheel back on, it is important to tighten the lug nuts on the wheel, but not get them so tight, they can’t be loosened the next time.

Bleeding the brakes is a very important last step before testing the brakes. The owners manual has instructions for bleeding brakes. This step forces the air out of the brake lines and allows the brake rotors to work properly. Brake fluid, if needed, can be purchased at a Discount Auto Parts store with all of the other brake parts needed. Test the brakes on a level surface to make sure everything is working properly.
