The Importance Of Business Analytics
October 21st, 2010 by admin
Business analytics should play a huge part of any companies regular strategic planning processes, but that’s not always the case.
According to a recent piece of research conducted by IBM, a shocking 80% of business owners make decisions based on incomplete, untrusted or unconfirmed information. The same piece of research suggested the 79% of those working on their business or IT strategy will make decisions based on intiution rather than facts and figures.
In contrast, only 13% of decision makers are utilising analytics packages and processes to inform their business decision making. However, a hefty 68% of those decision makers want to harness analytics for their business, they’re just unsure exactly how to implement it, or what exactly it entails.
For those looking to make a simple start with analytics packages, you can take advantage of Google Analytics, which is a free software than can be used in conjuction with your business website. This will allow you to see where your visitors are coming from, how many of them there are, what browsers and OS’s they’re using, how long they spend on your site, etc.
This will allow you to make informed decisions about your website, allowing you to optimise your online conversion rates. It can also help inform your offline decision making processes; for example if you find you’re getting a substantial amount of traffic from a particular area of the country, you may decide to increase your marketing output in that area in order to capitalise on your brand awareness.
There are numerous business analytics packages available online, although you’ll also need excellent data management protocols in place in order to make the most of your business analytics.

Who are You
October 21st, 2010 by admin
My nationality is American. My ethnic make up is composed of Spanish, Mexican, Italian and French. The crazy thing is I look more Italian and French than Spanish and Mexican but I’m mostly Mexican. I am one eighth Italian, one quarter French, one quarter Spanish and seven eighths Mexican. I have light skin like the Europeans with dark hair and green eyes. I’ve been told recently by a man that I have a Mexican body, and I’m not quite sure what that meant but the truth is my grandma was well endowed and she passed that along to all the girls in my family. And we are all short which is a common trait amongst mexicans. My mom and her parents speak spanish fluently. They are the mexican side and when I call them up they always talk about the new cell phone accessories they bought. My nana(grandma is both mexican and spanish) is really into her iPhone and it seems that each week she gets a new iPhone case.
My dad doesn’t speak Spanish or Italian although his mother speaks both, and even taught the languages to high school students. My dad was the youngest in his family and therefore got into a lot of trouble, but never got in trouble for it, he was a bit spoiled as most youngest of siblings do. I will call him up on my bluetooth headset and try to get him to speak spanish because I know he speaks at least a little bit but he doesn’t even want to try.

The Right Computers For the Right Job
October 12th, 2010 by admin
It’s an unfortunate truth that many people never get the right computers for their needs. Whether they are deceived by the shiny exterior, or they are overly concerned about getting the cheapest computer on the market, many consumers wind up with computers that simply can’t fill their expectations. Worse than that, many people find themselves with computers stacked with features that they will never use. The best thing a user can do is take an objective look at his or her needs and find the most relevant computer they can.
For example, laptops have been very popular for many years now. Their processing power and complete mobility make them a good choice for students, travelling business people, and users that simple want the freedom to do some work at local WiFi spots or even out in the park. Of course, this kind of freedom only comes at a price, and laptops tend to be more expensive than their larger counterparts. Do you really need to pay this extra amount? That all depends on exactly where you plan to use these computers.
Desktops, on the other hand, are specifically meant to be used in a single location, but what they lack in mobility they make up for in customizability. It is relatively simple to change the components of desktop computers to design the machine that will meet your specific needs. As a general rule, desktops are more affordable, unless you need the top-of-the-line models for specific, complex jobs.
If you are working in a business situation and simply use a range of basic applications, either model will be sufficient, but if you travel at all or do work from multiple locations, you may find that laptops are more convenient. On the other hand, if your job requires continual upgrades, desktops will be the best way to go.

The Newly Released Samsung Fascinate
October 6th, 2010 by admin
The Samsung Fascinate, latest in the Galaxy S series, hit the smart phone market in the early part of September. Rivaling, and in many cases overshadowing, the Droid X and the Apple iPhone, the Fascinate offers an incredible AMOLED screen and a processor capable of running any available videos or games. Once you get this little powerhouse in your hands, your life will make a change for the better. Let’s explore some ways to keep your Fascinate operating to its full capacity and looking as nice as the day you opened the box. Samsung Fascinate Accessories included with the stock model most likely will meet the needs of the majority of users, but it’s nice to have some fun options to choose from as well. Although the Fascinate comes equipped with a 16GB card, the phone will hold a 32GB microSD card, allowing you to store an incredible amount of photos, videos and music. The standard battery gives the user approximately 7 hours of talk/usage time with a standby time up to 312 hours. If the user needs a longer battery life, extended batteries make a good choice for times when charging opportunities are unavailable. The Fascinate package includes a wall/USB charger to conveniently charge either from AC power or from the USB port on a computer or laptop. A simple stand charger will charge both phone and extra battery simultaneously. Many users will appreciate the desktop charger dock that displays your choice of clock, local weather, news headlines and more while charging. Car chargers function as an option for convenient charging during the day to and from work, during day outings or for travel needs. Protective Samsung Fascinate Cases come in many different styles, from a soft, silicone gel case to a highly decorative hard case in fun choices of color and design. Relatively inexpensive, a silicone gel case easily wraps around the back and edges of the phone to afford protection to the edges and corners. Silicone gel covers provide an anti-slip feature to help prevent slips from hands or surfaces. Hard cases can provide a greater degree of protection from falls and day-to-day handling, but some styles can be more difficult to place on the phone. Most cases cover the phone only and leave the sensitive touch screen unprotected. With your new phone safely wrapped for protection, the next step is to invest in one of the Samsung Fascinate Screen Protectors. A thin layer of protective film offers a great deal of protection from the problems of everyday usage such as oil, dirt, dust, fingerprints and scratches. Screen protectors come in several different styles including clear anti-scratch, anti-glare or privacy screen to protect against others viewing your phone. Taking the Android phone to a whole new level with its ultra-slim design, powerful processor and incredible graphics, the Samsung Fascinate appeals to all types of users. Consider your level of use, select your accessories accordingly and increase the life of your phone and your personal enjoyment.

What to Do if your Computer Detects Spyware
October 4th, 2010 by admin
When your computer has spyware, you are at risk of people finding crucial information about you. This is a risk especially if you carry out any business or transactions online. It is important that you use a spyware removal program from a reputable source that will scan your computer and clear it of any spyware. If your computer detects spyware it will show an icon indicating the infection. You should not be in a hurry to click the icon as it can lead you to other harmful sites. This is a way that malicious people in the internet are using to install into your computer spyware so that they can be able to track your every move on the internet. These malicious people know that if you see the icon indicating that your computer has spyware you will want to prevent it by clicking on the icon. Actually, this has resulted to more harm than good as it installs spyware onto your computer. It is important that you do not put a lot of concern where you see these alerts in your computer. If you happen to click on the icon showing you the spyware infection, you should not download anything from the source that it might be recommending. However, if you are suspicious that your computer may be infected, it is better you download the removal program from a credible source. You can actually prevent this icon from appearing in your computer by doing the following:Click on the “Start” menu and run the term “MS configuration”. You should disable all applications on the start up menu that may appear suspicious. This will now prevent the icon from appearing. The best way to prevent your computer from getting infected with spyware is by not clicking on a tab that is promising to offer free removal programs as most of these tabs are not genuine.
Once you have removed all the spyware on your system it’s important to clean out the registry to remove every trace of the spyware or malware. In our RegCure review we discuss the pros and cons of a popular registry cleaner software tool that will help you easily and quickly get rid of excess registry entries in your PC. Another good program is PC Health Advisor, which we discuss in our PC Health Advisor review. This program is not only a registry cleaner but also a multifunctional computer maintenance tool.

Wireless Radio for Long Range Sensor Monitoring
October 3rd, 2010 by admin
Monitoring the world around us is becoming more and more common with wireless sensors. Interconnecting all of this information requires new communication techniques such as wireless technologies. However, manufactures have had to work hard to keep up with the latest wireless technology standards. Many of the latest protocols and standard include Wifi, Bluetooth, and Zigbee. Determining which protocol to choose can be confusing. Depending on the application, a particular protocol may be best suited. A wireless module which works well for one may not be the best choice for another.
Range and bandwidth are two of the most important aspects to consider. For most transmitter receiver systems, range and bandwidth are often inversely related. Long range and high bandwidth applications can be difficult to achieve at a reasonable budget. This is the reason why there are many different wireless standards in order to create efficient methods of communication for a particular bandwidth, which will be transmitted at a particular range. For example, a WiFi module is great for transmitting high bandwidth information, but the range is limited to only a hundred meters or so. Other wireless protocols may be better suited beyond this range as this protocol is not be efficient at this range. Wireless Bluetooth is in a similar class as WiFi. At the opposite end of the wireless radio spectrum is the zigbee and 802.15.4 protocol. This protocol is made for applications demanding longer transmission range with lower power. Different modulation techniques allow it to achieve better range and higher power. While peak power may be greater, the spectral width and bandwidth is typically much lower than WiFi or Bluetooth. This allows zigbee to focus on low power designs using battery power, and is very well suited for such cases.

A Cold Frappe And No Internet Problems
September 27th, 2010 by admin
There are several ways to get rid of the first-day mania. If you are a transferee, make yourself comfortable by doing your rounds in the campus. You may want to check out important places such as your designated classroom, the lockers, the restroom, the library, the clinic, the administration’s office, the cashier’s office, the faculty room, the canteen or pantry, the court and the auditorium. These are just some of the common places in your school that you will go to as the days go by. To be certain of your readiness for school, prepare all your important stuff a day ahead and put them in your bag so you will not forget anything. You would not want to rush and miss out something you need, would you? Sleep earlier. Do not play your favorite computer games and encounter problems with the internet again. I am sure you had enough time during summer. You can still play though, on weekends where you can chill, buy yourself a cup of hot or cold frappe…whichever you prefer. Then, take advantage of their Free Wi-fi. For sure, you won’t experience problems with wireless internet, the way you did when you are at home. Get enough sleep the night before, to avoid being tardy on your first day and look like walking on a red carpet while everyone else’s eyes are on you. If you are an elementary or high school student, wear your whitest uniform. That is, if your parents got no enough budget to buy you a new one annually or whenever needed. For college students, wear something comfortable. Remember, first impressions last. Although, impressing people at school is not your main goal, still you have to put your best foot forward and avoid leaving a bad impression that may be used against you someday. I recalled this classmate of mine whose name is Malaya. She is not rich and her mother works as a janitor in the same school I and her daughter was enrolled. On our first day, she came in late because she had to do the chores while her mother goes to school around 5:30 a.m. That was why she did not have enough time to prepare for herself. The teacher had finished asking the rest of the class to introduce ourselves, except for her. It was awful on her part because Malaya was a shy girl. Another thing, we noticed the hole on the armpit of her uniform, too. I did not laugh because I know it is not right to mock other people’s imperfections and mistakes. However, almost the rest did. OMG! What an embarrassment!

Perfect for students, the Canon Pixma MP620 printer.
September 24th, 2010 by admin
The Canon Pixma MP620 colour inkjet multifunction printer offers lots of storage space and connectivity options. While its design has a few shortcomings, overall the Canon Pixma MP620 offers a good deal, especially for a busy home or school setting.Several advanced features differentiate the silvery Canon Pixma MP620. The control panel features a number of buttons and a scroll wheel that allows you to navigate through the tiltable 2.5 inch colour LCD beside it. The remainder of the buttons are clearly tagged and simple to use.Standard connectivity features include a built-in WiFi, ethernet and USB, with an option to add an adaptor to enable Bluetooth. The Canon Pixma MP620 has 2 media slots that is compatible to most cards, but you will need to purchase a third-party adaptor to utilize the XD Picture Card format. The PictBridge port accepts only Canon-compatible devices. The 150-sheet output tray automatically unfolds itself from the Canon Pixma MP620′s front panel when you initiate a print job. You get two 150-sheet input trays: one underneath for letter-size plain paper, and a second in the rear for larger or thicker media.Regrettably, on our test unit, it took a lot of pulling and pushing to raise the telescoping guides for the reat verticle input, and we unintentionally collapsed them countless times. Another drawback: the Canon Pixma MP620 lacks an automatic document feeder (ADF) and duplexing capabilities. The Canon Pixma MP620 performed fairly well in our tests. It posted average speeds, producing 7.6 pages per minute (ppm) with plain text and 2.2ppm with graphics. Black text was clear and dark when using the pigment black ink cartridge. On colour graphics it uses a dye-based second black, plus cyan, magenta, and yellow. Prints tended to be a bit too yellow, especially in skin tones. Despite that along with small graininess, images otherwise seem to be vibrant and natural. Scan and copy tests yielded good results as well.Ink cartridges for the Canon Pixma printer range vary dependent on the price market the printers are aimed at. In the case of the MP620 a total of five Canon ink cartridges are required for its operation. Two black cartridges and three individual colour cartridges. This is the first time we have encountered a problem with Canon’s normally solid documentation: the printed Setup Guide features a confounding flowchart about different installation options that stymie rather than advance the process. In addition to that, Canon’s above average score in our Reliability and Service survey bodes very well for your overall experience. The Canon Pixma MP620 is equipped with an array of features inside a well-designed bundle. Its connectivity in addition to good paper handling ensures it is perfect for students or a small home office.Canon Pixma MP620 ink cartridges can be found here
