The first step in the jailbreak iPhone process is to create a new folder on your computer. This will help you to store your downloaded iPhone applications. Opening a folder will also make the downloading easier to manage. Connect your iPhone to your computer and launch iTunes so that you can get more information on the applications that are available to you.

Once you’re in iTunes, select the phone, hold down the shift, and click ‘restore.’ Now you’ll need to go to the folder that you’ve created and select the 3.0 firmware.
